Map Butterfly

The distinct pattern on the underwing has earned the Map butterfly its English (and German) name. In Danish it is called Nældesommerfugl (nettle butterfly).

Map butterfly

The Map butterfly (Nældesommerfugl) usually flies in two broods with very distinct colouring of the overwing. This is in the colours of the summer brood where it looks somewhat like a White Admiral butterfly.
